The ongoing conflict in Gaza Strip has resulted in significant displacement and humanitarian needs. Due to the airstrikes, shelling and evacuation calls, nearly 1.7 million people have been internally displaced in search of shelter and humanitarian assistance. According to recent estimates by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has plummeted by 26.9 percent, equating to a US$7.1 billion loss from a 2023 baseline scenario without conflict, and pushing approximately 1.74 million individuals into poverty. The affected populations require urgent support in terms of shelter, food, water, hygiene and other basic necessities.
The collaborative efforts of NGOs, government organisations is quite critical in providing the necessary relief and stability during this crisis. However, private organisations also need to step up. Thus, National Tent House (NTH), dedicated to giving back to the society, has also geared up and are providing essential support through significant contributions and strategic partnerships.
Collaborations for Humanitarian Aid
NTH has partnered with key stakeholders to gift 125 tons of Core Relief Items which will ease the sufferings of 15,000-20,000 individuals. This comprehensive package includes Family Tents, Multipurpose Tents, Tarpaulin Sheets, Blankets, Semi Collapsible Jerry Cans, Buckets, and Hygiene Kits. These supplies will play a crucial role in providing temporary shelter, storage for clean water and other hygienic needs for families including women and children’s immediate needs.
Strategic Delivery
To ensure timely distribution and maximizing the impact of relief, NTH has coordinated these shipments to Port Said in Egypt and Aqaba Port in Jordan. From these points, the supplies will be distributed to the affected areas in Gaza, ensuring swift relief to displaced populations.
