Durable Fabric

The walls, roof flysheet, outer tent, and mudflaps are constructed from woven high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) coating on both sides. These materials are tested to international standards to ensure durability:

• Tensile Strength (ISO 1421-1):

  • The fabric withstands a pulling force of 500 N, which is equivalent to supporting 50 kg.
  • The fabric also stretches 15% to 35% before breaking, allowing it to endure high winds or tension during setup.
  • Why it matters? This allows the tent to withstand the layer of heavy snow, tension from high winds, anchoring systems, and repeated use without losing its shape or tearing under stress.

• Tear Resistance (ISO 4674-1B):

  • The fabric resists a tear force of 100 N, comparable to supporting 10 kg of weight from a small puncture.
  • Why it matters? Tear resistance ensures that small cuts or punctures caused by rocks, debris, or rough handling during setup don’t spread, maintaining the tent’s integrity even after minor damage.

• UV Resistance (ISO 1421-1):

  After 1500 hours of UV exposure, the fabric retains 80% of its tensile strength. This ensures durability in sunny climates or prolonged outdoor use.

• Fire Retardancy (EN13823+A1):

  The tent allows a 4-minute evacuation window in the event of a fire. Tested for how materials respond to flames, it ensures user safety in emergencies.

• Waterproofing (ISO 811) and Rain Resistance (ISO 5912):

  • The tent is tested by applying water pressure at an increasing speed of 100mm per minute to check water penetration resistance (minimum 30 hPa), ensuring no leaks during heavy rain.
  • Its bathtub groundsheet, stitched 200mm above ground, prevents water seepage even in flooded areas.

• Elastic Shock Absorbers:

  • Absorb stress and prevent strain on the fabric and frame during high winds or sudden tension adjustments.

  • Durable metal pegs, tested to resist vigorous hammering, anchor the tent securely to the ground, even in soft or rocky terrain.

• Mosquito Nets (ISO 8388):

  • All windows and doors are equipped with high-strength polyester mosquito nets, providing a safe, pest-free environment.
