Comemorating World Humanitarian Day

Humanitarian Aid Workers

World Humanitarian Day, established on August 19th to honor the 22 lives lost in the 2003 attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad, serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by humanitarian workers. The United Nations has recorded 2023 as the deadliest year for humanitarian workers, and the outlook for 2024 is even more alarming. As of August 7th, a provisional count from the Aid Worker Security Database shows that 172 aid workers have already lost their lives and at least 150 have been injured or abducted, highlighting the growing risks and challenges faced by those who strive to make a difference in the world’s most dangerous environments.

Commitment to Ensure Humanitarian Aid Workers’ Safety on World Humanitarian Day 2024

National Tent House has a proven track record of over 5 decades manufacturing Relief products and being amongst the key suppliers for global relief efforts. Our products have actively supported crisis response efforts in numerous countries, including Burkina Faso, Haiti, Mozambique, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Jordan, Ghana, China, Cameroon, Libya, Sudan, Kenya, Syria, Algeria, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Afghanistan, and many more.

National Tent House offers a comprehensive range of core relief items and tents, designed to support aid workers in delivering critical assistance to impacted communities during natural disasters, humanitarian crises, war conflicts, and other emergencies.

During any disaster, there is always a significant risk of essential infrastructure being destroyed, including shelters, educational institutions, and hospitals. We’ve witnessed this devastation firsthand in recent crises such as those in Ukraine and Gaza. To alleviate suffering in such situations, National Tent House offers a variety of tents designed to meet the diverse needs of affected communities.

Our Family Tents and Multipurpose Tents, which are fire retardant (CPAI 84 grade 5 and 6), provide an extra layer of safety and are built to last. The Family Tent can accommodate a family of five, offering them a secure roof over their heads, suitable for all climates. It can withstand winds of up to 75 km/h and requires only 5-6 people to assemble, making it an ideal solution for any crisis.

Moreover, our IOM/ICRC Standard Multipurpose Tent and UNICEF Standard HPT Tent are versatile enough to serve as classrooms for children, clinics, or offices. These tents feature high ceilings, windows, and extra ventilation, making them suitable for extreme temperatures and providing a comfortable, functional space in the midst of chaos.

Our Core Relief Items including blankets, sleeping mats, and Kitchen Sets offered by NTH are essential for ensuring the well-being, comfort and hygiene of affected individuals in any disaster situation. Our Jerry Cans and Water Buckets further serve as safe storage for clean drinking water for the affected communities. Both these items are easy to carry, impact resistant and portable which further eases refugees hardships and supports humanitarian aid workers to safely and efficiently deliver these items to relief camps or displaced communities.

We ensure that our tents and core relief items are designed for easy deployment, understanding that quick setup and mobility are crucial for the safety of humanitarian aid workers operating in challenging environments.

Make a Difference – #ActForHumanity

This World Humanitarian Day, aid workers and their global supporters have united to organize events that shine a light on the devastating toll of armed conflicts, especially on those risking their lives to provide humanitarian assistance. In a powerful call to action, leaders of humanitarian organizations will be sending a joint letter to the Member States of the UN General Assembly, urging the international community to end attacks on civilians, safeguard all aid workers, and hold those responsible accountable.

Everyone can make a difference by joining and amplifying the digital campaign using the hashtag #ActforHumanity, adding their voice to the global movement for justice and protection of humanitarian aid workers across the globe.
